Notes on: I ❤️ Campbell Addy exhibition
NOTES ON: A series of brief thoughts on art, culture and subjects.
Firstly, from a presentation and curation aspect, the choice of colours create a well considered atmosphere of power and strength. The effect of boldness and importance highlighting the valued and reflective pieces of work. This all further expanded by the use of lighting such as the neon lights and spot lights, and the effect of sound from the documentary to the music played on the speakers, resulting in a inquisitive and inspired ambiance.
The journey of introspection and discovery takes us through Campbell’s personal journey of commercial work for publications such as I-D, Vogue, TIME, and Dazed to photographing celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Tyler The Creator, and Beyonce to creating polished personal projects such as a film shot in Ghana, paintings and photography.
Campbell really reflects on his journey and art and how he will take it further in new directions to keep his inner creative flame alive and rediscover his initial interests.
As a young creative, it is an essential show to see, to learn about yourself, your practise and your future with inspirational pieces to reignite your own creative flame.
Regardless of your profession, if you have even the mildest interest in the creative world and art, it is a must-see for 2023 to take it in for yourself, learn and rediscover!
